Seth is Here!

Well Seth joined our clan on Monday, August 25 @ 13:26. He weighed 8 lbs 2 oz and was 21 1/2 inches long! Cesar and I checked in to the hospital at around 6 AM. Nurse Nikki and Doctor Olvera were present at the birth. Nurse Nikki was there when Noah was born, so now she has officially become one of the Ontiveros family! Nana, Dooda, and Uncle Travis was also on hand to welcome Seth. Nana had taken Noah to school that morning and then picked him up to join us at the hospital! Here are some pictures of Seth's Birthday!

A few more Noah-isms

Cesar and I have been trying to really pay attention to Noah's new phrases because they are just so cute and funny. Here are a few more Noah originals:

"Last weekend, we (insert story)" - Everything regarding time is referred to last weekend whether it was a month ago, last weekend, or five minutes ago.

"Well....actually...(insert whatever he is telling you)" - This involves quite a bit of facial expression, thinking, and pauses.

The other night Noah was getting ready for bed and asked me to sleep with him. Cesar asked him if he could sleep with him and Noah said "No Mommy, I luff you Daddy". He wanted to make sure that Daddy knew he still loved him...too cute.

Cesar and I finally got Noah saying his school table prayer on video. I need to figure out how to get that on here. It is too precious....I am not biased or anything!

Noah Phrases...

Noah has become quite the linquist lately...meaning he is talking a lot. Here are a few of his "best of"s:

"That's that way to do it, Mom"

"You just go like dat!"

"I no need to wash my hair" (this is a constant struggle)

"Dat's muscle food" (we call anything with protein in it muscle food)

"You so silly"

"You a dirdy birdy"

"I like my uncles" (Noah is infatuated with his uncles right now...he loves to be around them)

"Dats for Seff" (Any baby item is automatically for Baby Seth)

Sibling Class at the Hospital...

Last Saturday (July 5th), Noah had a sibling class at the hospital that I will be delivering at. He had a really great time. They watched a cartoon about Arthur getting a new baby sister. They made birthday cards for their babies. They learned to swaddle, feed, burp, and change a diaper (this was the most fun). See Noah above bottle feeding Mickey Mouse. And then they had a story read to them about being a big brother/sister. We went on a tour of the labor/delivery rooms and the postpartum rooms.

Cesar and I had a particularly good time observing Noah and all his reactions. He was so good, answered lots of the question, and made random comments like 3 year olds do. One of his comments that really had nothing to do with the question asked was "I run fast and my mommy runs slow". He also changed the subject at hand when he said that Seth kicked him. Then the other kids started talking about feeling their babies kick. It was really so cute. Noah was just so outgoing...we figure that this is how he acts at school, but we don't get to see it!

Potty Training FUN!!!!

So Noah is potty trained now, but it was a L-O-N-G road as many of you experienced mom's I'm sure know. Noah's class got moved up and he was left behind but only for a week before he also got to move up. I think not being in the class with his friends somehow pushed him to get the show on the road. Anyway through the last few months he has made various comments about his experiences in the bathroom and without being too vulgar or descriptive, I will not give you some of Noah's best quotes:

"Look, ders two uh dems." (Look, there are two of them)
"Mommy, ita circle" (Mommy, it's a circle)
"Oh, dat a BIG one" (Oh, that's a big one)
"You go out" (He apparently likes his privacy while in the restroom....understandable!)
April: "Are you done?", Noah: "No, der more Mommy"

I'm sure there are more quotes that will come to me. I just had to get these down before I start forgetting!

Family Pictures...

Here are a few of the shots from our photo session with Shelby Lane (www.shelbylane.net). We had pictures taken June 14th. I didn't really want to do "pregnancy" photos, but I did want some to capture the pregnancy and I wanted some pictures of our family as it is now before our new addition gets here (of course one member is not pictured....Sorry Frankie, but you would have flipped out!). Shelby always manages to capture Noah's personality at whatever age he is. He had fun telling her about his friends, Diego, and his uncles. Her studio is very close to a fire station in New Braunfels, so we usually get to see a fire truck with sirens when we are there. Noah thinks that is pretty exciting. We did forget his white shirt, so we ended up just turning his t-shirt around. You'll notice that there is stuff on the back of his shirt. Shelby was still going to go through the pics and get the seams out of the floor and touch a few things up. I'm hoping that she can white out the back of Noah's shirt too. Cesar and I seem to be forgetting things a lot lately (okay...really it's me, but he lets me blame him too so that I don't feel so bad...he's such a good husband!) Doesn't Noah look like such a big boy!

Seth's Room....

Mom took a couple of days off and came up to San Antonio the weekend of June 20th. She helped me get Seth's room put together. On Thursday while I was at work she went and got the paint and painted two walls green and two walls an off white color. When I got home I did the cutting in at the ceiling and the corners. The painting was done in one day (Thanks Mom/Nana!). On Friday, I had the day off and we went shopping. I got a few things for Seth's room and a few things for Noah's room (I'll have to post some pictures of Noah's big boy room later). We had a really good time seeing it all come together. Noah's nursery was really cute, but I didn't get to do a lot of the finishing kind of decorating because we were buying things like travel systems and car seats. This time around we have all that stuff, so I get to DECORATE! It's been a lot of fun. A group of people that I work with at the Print Plant got together and bought the truck rug in the pictures...it is so stinkin' cute and just really ties the room together for me...let's not mention the fact that Seth probably won't be sleeping in his room for a few months. We will hang in there for changing, rocking, and naps....
